DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACKS AND MORE

The new annual catalog is out! Wooh!!! I don’t know about you, but my wish list is enormous. And our new (adorable) Designers Series Paper Stacks are my faves.
Check out these striped and floral patterns! For this project, I used Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, Pool Party, and Watermelon Wonder. It takes just a minute or two to make the fun little Designer Series Paper floral accents featured here using the Flower Medallion Punch (item # 137417). Just snip the petals to give them a little dimension, then adhere them to the tags using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
1
Do you love the adorable floral centers? They’re our new 2015–2017 In Color Blossom Accents (item # 138383)—1/2" in diameter with 20 flowers per package and four each of five colors.

2
The stamp sets featured here are Friendly Wishes (item # 139579) and Sweet Stack(item # 138948).
Create the tag using the Ornate Tag Topper (item # 137416).
3

Love the new Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim; it’s item # 138425 in the new catalog.
4
The cute taffy paper used to make this card is included with the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack (item # 138443). Make the gift box with the Big Shot (item # 113439), the Fry Box Bigz L Die (item # 132966), the All about Sugar Stamp Set (item # 138684) and the Sprinkles on Top Stamp Set (item # 139569). I slipped the treat inside a Gusseted Cellophane Bag, item # 133770.

5
Just for fun, I made a necklace out of stamped doughnuts (see right side of picture). Just make a “sandwich” out of two punched doughnuts with a Stampin’ Dimensional in the middle, then adhere it to the soon-to-be-available-and-super-awesome Silver Metallic Thread (item # 138402). Add a balloon to this cute little ensemble and you have a bright and happy birthday gift for a friend!

Saturday Series: 4th of July Treats and Fry Box idea

For my Saturday Series (posted on Sunday... oops!) I have a couple fun 4th of July ideas for you. I have always like 4th of July, maybe because my mom always has made it special. So I had some fun coming up with a couple of cute ideas using the All about Sugar stamp set and Fry Box that you can easily make.

Is that fun or what??

Since the 4th is usually geared around yummy BBQ, I decided to make this little utensil holder. Very quick and easy!! I took the new Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags (now that's a mouth full...no pun intended!! ) ha-ha! I simply cut the sides down about 1 1/2 "  and made a little flap. I used the Confetti Stars Border to make the topper, I tucked the sides under the flap and adhered them down. The sweet little silverware are from the All about Sugar stamp set!! That's too precious on there!! I made the bow out of the strands I tore from the White 1 1/4" Jute ribbon. You could use any ribbon, I just like the little fuzzy filaments that are on it, they make it fun and rustic looking.

For my Fry Box, I used the All about Sugar stamp set on the front.  I punched out a couple stars and used the Star Framelits for all the stars. I added  some stars on the back of the box to jazz it up!! Love that!! To make the fun little swirly ribbons, I simply cut my paper in very thin strips and used my paper snips to curl ( just like you would curl ribbon on a present) this breaks down the fibers and you can curl away...just don't get too crazy, otherwise it will break!

Very cute and fun! This is also fast in case you have a big BBQ!

Is this funny or what??? I just about cracked up when I came up with these!! Can you guess how many stamp sets I used to make this??? ( answer at bottom)

Somehow I think the 4th of July and pop rocks go together!! Like a little firework in your mouth!! AHHH! There is no-one cuter eating pop rocks than my Aunt Jenny!! She will think this is fun!!
I used the new Brights Designer Series Paper for the stripes. The banner is from the Mini Treat Bag thinlits, which is on the weekly deals for $10 off!!! Wow!!

Did you have a guess on the number of stamps used to come up with Rock Your 4th?? If you guessed 3 then you were right!!!

Hope you liked this and feel inspired!! have a great day!!

Here's a scrapbook page we made in our monthly scrapbook class. Its a great page that just makes you just wanna get wet!! :)  The crab is from You're Sublime and is just too cute!! I knew right when I saw him he was going on a summer scrapbook page! I just love this little beach scene, it can be used for many types of summer beach pages, just change the title.

Is that cute? I you live in Texas, you would know that it has been a little stormy this week with that Tropical Storm, so thank goodness the beach is usually like this one !! :))  There are tons of crabs at South Padre and when my boys were little...it was like paradise for them.

Here's a closer look at the first page. To make the sandy beach I used Kraft Cardstock and simply tore it. One tip on tearing, if you teat towards you, you will get that frayed layers of paper, which is what we wanted here. If you tear away from you then the edge is a little more crisp and clear, not so frayed. I was trying to get a sand dune kind of look, so I tore up and down, not straight across.

Did you notice the cloud?? It's the Sprinkled with fun stamp set!!! Love that one!! Not just for ice-cream

Do you LOVE the castle?? Well I a couple things of the clearance rack, like the Under the Tree Specialty paper and the Homemade Holiday framelits for the top!!! AHH! Is that too fun?? I daubed the sides of the castle and the sand to give it a 3D look. I used the spiral punch on the tops of the castle. For the very top I used the Homemade Holiday Framelits (just another use for those great framelits!!) I cut the chimney off the top and used the 1/2" circle punch. To make the banner I used the Banner Framelits and the cute saying that comes with the crab. Did you notice on the banner, I used a candy dot on top....fun fun!!

I just squealed when I realized I could make a beach ball for the "O" here!! How fun is that?? There are probably cuter ways to make a beach ball, but I just used the 1 " circle punch and punched out several colors and then had to put a candy dot on!!! Oh ya!!

Here's the 2nd page, how fun is that!!!The funny thing is, when I firs made this page, there was no umbrella! When we were at class, you know how all the energy is just flowing and everyone is having fun, Jo says " I wish we had an umbrella" so I was determined to make one!!

So here's what I came up with, I cut out the largest circle in the Circle Framelits and then used the largest oval in the Oval Framelits (It's scalloped) I placed it about a 1/3 down on the circle and viola an umbrella was created! I used a Daffodil Delight marker to make lines to the scallop!! You can make them smaller, too.

Did that turn out cute?? I hope you have enjoyed this!!

Have a great weekend and be sure to check out the clearance rack here for some good stuff!!

Here's a fun card I made using one of the  new hostess sets available in the new catalog it's called The Best Thoughts. Although the flower in this stamp set is incredible, for this card I used the flower from You've Got This stamp set. It's a clean and simple card, but I really like how it turned out.

Is that pretty??

I really like the butterfly on this card, it looks 3D, really giving this card a great look. I kept the card simple, with the black border adding drama.

I continued the theme on the inside.

I ended up using this card for a swap I was in. I love how the Watermelon Wonder Ribbon, is sneaking out the bottom.

Have a great night.

I have to show you this awesome graduation card I made. When I saw The Wilderness Awaits stamp set in the catalog, I could have screamed!! In our town, there are 2 high schools, and one of the high schools is the Burleson Elks!! So you see why I was so excited!! Both of my sons graduated from that high school just a couple years ago, and we have some friends graduating this year. So I tore open my Stampin' Up box and grabbed that stamp out like it was gonna get away!! ha-ha!!

Here's my card:

Isn't that fabulous?? Ohhh how I like it!!

I embossed the Elk in Basic Black Embossing powder, and he just shines!  It's a very simple card, but it's a keeper!! I do have one tip on embossing powder.....and well this may not be a rocket science idea, and you may have already figured this out....but here it goes, turn OFF the ceiling fan when using embossing powder!! AHHH!!  ha-ha!! :)))

Here's what a "herd" of Graduation Elk" cards look like:

I think one of the hardest cards to make is a sympathy card. Is it for you too?? Well I turned to the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper to help me out. This paper is neutral and  elegant, it would also make a real pretty wedding/ bridal card. I used the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp set to make this card, in this set there are Get Well sentiments as well as Sympathy.

Here's my card:

This is a simple yet pretty card.

See how pretty the paper is? It seems to have a little shimmer to it as well. I used the In-Color Blossom Accents to add an element. I also added a small amount of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon to add softness.

I hope you have a great rest of the day!! Thanks for stopping by. Please use HOSTESS CODE 39J9JZQU if you place ans order and your name will be put in a drawing to win $25 in hostess rewards!!!

Saturday Series Graduation card and Curvy Keepsakes Box

It's graduation time !! So today for my Saturday Series I wanted to share  a couple graduation cards and a treat box. If you have been following my blog, on Saturdays I like to showcase certain products so today it's graduation!!! I used the BYOP stamp set that is full of great sayings, not just for graduation. I also used the Celebrate Today stamp set, also another great stamp set that can be used for all types of occasions.

So here's my graduation combo:

Can you guess the colors of our local the high school?? ha-ha!!  Don't you just love this little graduation  combo??

For this card I used the BYOP stamp set, and did you notice the embossing on the red background?? I used the new Brick Wall Framelit. I embossed it first then daubed it with Sahara Sand and Early Espresso  here and there to make the brick look worn and to make them POP!!

I really like how this card turned out!! The tassel  and the star were cut out of the Silver Foil paper to make a big impression!! Do you recognize which framelit I used to cut the tassel?  It's the Balloon Framelits, the little balloon tie makes a great tassel!! I love it when one tool can be used for several things!!  I cut the  Mortar hat I cut on the trimmer, lining the angle on the grid to make a perfect diamond. To make the bottom part of the hat I used half of  1/2" circle on both sides of a square punch to make the point. What do you think?? This just takes a little practice, and it will come out perfect!

This sweet little card is a peek-a-boo card. The card base is 4 14/" x 11 inches. After I scored and folded it, I took the trimmer and removed 3/4" on the front panel. I embossed the balloon string with Silver Embossing powder. The fun string on top is the silver filament on the Silver Baker's twine, I just pulled the filament off and it really adds  twirly fun and interest!!

This is what the inside of the card looks like!! The Silver foil strips on the side, add to all the silver elements!! Very cute. This could easily be a birthday card, just change the sentiment!! WAY CUTE!!! This card instantly says...Way to go graduate!!

Here's a graduation Curvy Keepsakes box!! Is that the cutest thing you have ever seen?!!  It almost makes me want to graduate again....Ok maybe not!!

Would this be adorable at a graduation party? Or a fun way to give cash or a little gift!! LOVE IT!! The square on top is 2 3/4' x 2 3/4", to get it to fit on the Curvy Keepsakes box, I used my Trimmer to cut a slit about an inch long, and slid the top of the Curvy Keepsake box through the slit!! Perfect!! I made a tassel out of Whisper White Baker's Twine. To make the tassel, I took a 2 inch piece of cardstock and wrapped the baker's twine around about 7 times. Then I took a small piece of bakers twine and tied a knot around the top part, leaving a little "neck", then after knot secured, take another small piece of baker's twine and loop it through the top loops, and this is how you secure it. Then you cut the ends all the same length. Cute and easy!! I got his idea from Rebecca Massey, she is in our monthly demonstrator meetings.

Our group is fun and shares ideas and supports one another. If you are interested in joining a group that is strong and supportive, this is for you!! If you would like more info, just email me at www.jangirlholmes@gmail.com

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you feel inspired if you have any graduates this year!!
